The Western Washington County Employer Council…Is the link between the Business Community, the Employment Department, and the Workforce; providing a source of information, education, and support. 

 

Our goals are to:

· Increase public awareness of Employment Department services

· Increase Employment Department awareness of employer needs and requirements

· Continue education services in our community

 

The Portland Community College CAPITAL Career Center provides workforce solutions for businesses and individuals to enhance the economic strength of our community.  The center serves both job seekers and employers in the community.  Job seekers can access job listings, networking groups, and attend FREE job search classes. Individuals can also get connected with a career counselor to advise them in the latest job search strategies and help create a training plan in order to enhance or upgrade skills.

 

For employers and businesses the CAPITAL Career Center offers easy access to a well qualified and trained workforce, resources for posting open positions, recruitment and screening, customized workplace training, and employee services for companies who are affected by downsizing.

 

Worksource Oregon Employment Department’s mission is to:

 

· Support economic stability for Oregonians and communities during times of un employment through the payment of unemployment benefits.

· Serve businesses by recruiting and referring the best qualified applicants to jobs,  and provide resources to diverse job seekers in support of their employment needs.

· Develop and distribute quality workforce and economic information to promote  informed decision making.

· Provide access to child care that is safe, high quality, and affordable.

Worksystems, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that connects job seekers with employers by funding providers of career placement and training services.  Our strategic partnerships with business, economic development system that responds quickly to the skill needs of local employers.

 

Worksystems, Inc. funded programs serve adults, youth and businesses throughout Multnomah and Washington Counties.  Services are offered through a network of One Stop Centers and youth-serving organizations.  Businesses benefit from recruitment and retention services at each location as well as through customized training for current workers.
